Chalked Creative is a graphic design company that specializes in hand lettering, murals and illustration among its services. It was founded in 2014 by Kristen Buwalda.
Kristen has been a resident of Bend, Oregon since 2010, when she relocated here with her now-husband. She has always drawn and produced art, and her passion has always been pen and ink. Lettering was a natural transition with her background in design, and her love of fonts.
She produced chalkboards for her own wedding in 2013 and was convinced by her caterer to go into business with her lettering. Now, she produces work for many local businesses, as well as weddings and private events. Her lettering work is most visible around Central Oregon at Black Butte Ranch, McKay Cottage, Wild Roots Coffeehouse, Altius Pole Studio, Fortis Construction, and Seventh Mountain Resort to name a few.
Chalked Creative has also produced logos, branding, and layout and design of marketing materials for a variety of businesses, and has done work for Central Oregon Community College, Soovu, Oliver Tatom, Crater Lake Spirits, Bend Map Co. and much more.
